Real? Yes, it’s footage shot by Girls Gone Wild when she was 18.
Ashley Dupre hit the news in February 2008 as the prostitute whose assignation with New York governor Eliot Spitzer led to his resignation. She instantly became “the most famous hooker in America”, as one newspaper put it. Media outlets printed racy snapshots and sifted through every last detail of her personal life.
Among the revelations: Ashley Dupre had shot some video for Girls Gone Wild while on vacation in Florida in 2003. In March, some video clips and photos of Dupre started circulating online. Girls Gone Wild claimed that Dupre appeared on “hours” of footage during the week after her 18th birthday (April 30, 2003). Dupre sued to block Girls Gone Wild from releasing any of her footage, claiming that she had been under 18 and that she had been drunk when she signed her model release form. In July 2008, however, she dropped her lawsuit.
GGW founder Joe Francis responded to the dropped lawsuit, “Now that the distraction of this frivolous lawsuit is behind us and I have been vindicated, yet again, we’ve been given the green light to provide her with all the public exposure she could ask for.” The racier Ashley Dupre footage showed her showering, masturbating and making out with other wild girls.
After the lawsuit was dropped, several sources reported that an “Ashley Dupre sex tape” would now be released. This depends on whether Girls Gone Wild footage can properly be called a “sex tape”. Much of the Dupre footage and photos was already in circulation online, either on the GGW website or elsewhere.
Girls Gone Wild never released an Ashley Dupre solo DVD, which many had expected. Maybe her scandal value and name recognition declined too quickly after Spitzer resigned.
