Real? No, an obvious fake starring a lookalike.
Tattoo artist Kat von D (nee Katherine Von Drachenberg) had a feature role on the reality show Miami Ink starting in 2005 on TLC, then a starring role on spinoff LA Ink starting in 2007. In 2008 she published the book High Voltage Tattoo.
A so-called Kat von D sex tape started making the rounds in 2009. It’s a fake. Unlike some “found fakes” (Meg White, Lloyd Banks), the Kat von D fake was intentionally created for a celebrity lookalike pornsite, though that hasn’t stopped some hucksters from billing it as the real thing. The 21-minute porn video was shot on a tattoo parlor set with a heavily tattooed starlet, but it’s clearly not Kat von D.
Compare these photos from the porn shoot with an actual photo of Kat von D. The left arm tattoos have similarities, but the right arms don’t match at all.
True pornography aficionados were probably way ahead of me on the ID. The sex tape woman is actually pornstar Mason Moore.
