Real? No, the tape circulates but the man is probably not Mike Jones.
Mike Jones released his first solo rap CD, Who is Mike Jones?, in 2005. It sold a million copies and went platinum. Since then he has released an EP in 2007 and another full-length CD in 2009, neither very successful.
In April 2007, a supposed Mike Jones sex tape started to circulate online. The three-minute video is one continuous shot, taken from a camera placed on a dresser or shelf, showing a black man and a black woman having sex in various positions. Some hiphop blogs and ezines identified the two as “Mike Jones and some hood rat”, but neither person’s face is shown clearly on the tape.
Mike Jones released this statement: “It’s unfortunate that people use the internet to spread untrue rumors that are harmful to people on a personal and professional level. At no time in my life has a sex tape been made on me. And if you look closely you will see that that man is not me. Where are the tattoos? I have them all over my arms, hands, neck, everywhere.”
The so-called Mike Jones sex tape is probably fake, but it still circulates. As of August 2009, you can watch it in streaming form by scrolling down this page at ice dot com.
