Who? Swedish-British TV personality; English football player.
Real? The tape existed, but it never circulated publicly.
In 1998, Ulrika Jonsson accused her then-boyfriend Stan Collymore of beating her up in a Paris bar during the 1998 World Cup. The story sparked a tabloid frenzy for days in England.
Then in 2002, Jonsson went to court to prevent Collymore from releasing or selling a home sex tape the two had made together. A contemporary story in The Scotsman said the sex tape was made in Jamaica on holiday. Wikipedia says the Ulrika Jonsson – Stan Collymore Sex Tape was made during a vacation in Cyprus. All sources agree that the tape was very explicit.
The court ordered Collymore to hand over all photos and videos showing Jonsson naked or having sex to Jonsson’s lawyers. Collymore later claimed to have destroyed the sex tape himself.
Amazingly enough, the footage never circulated. Usually when someone shops a tape around the highest bidder, copies get made and leak eventually, but not this time.
