Real? Yes and yes.
Mystikal has appeared in two very different videos which have sometime been called the Mystikal sex tape.
The rapper Mystikal was convicted of sexual battery and extortion in January 2004 and served six years in prison. One damning bit of evidence against Mystikal was a videotape he made of the forced sexual encounter. MTV reported in a July 2002 news article:
As Mystikal’s lawyers declared his innocence on charges of rape and extortion on Friday (July 19, 2002), authorities revealed they confiscated a video of the alleged sexual assaults from the rapper’s Baton Rouge home.
The tape, which has been placed into evidence, allegedly shows Mystikal and two other men, Leland Ellis and Vercy Carter, threatening the rapper’s 40-year-old hair stylist and forcing her to have sex with them, according to Cpl. Mary Ann Godawa, a spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The men allegedly told the woman they would turn her in to authorities for cashing unauthorized checks from the rapper’s bank account if she did not have sex with them.
According to a copy of the arrest warrant obtained on Friday, the woman visited Mystikal’s house on July 3 to braid his hair. Afterwards, he confronted her about the checks and ordered her to “get into the bedroom and take your clothes off.”
The warrant states that Mystikal called his associates to come to his residence while he was engaged in oral sex with the victim. When they arrived, the rapper allegedly ordered Ellis to get his video camera and film him having sex with the woman. After the camera was turned off, Mystikal allegedly sodomized her. The warrant claims that the camera was turned back on to film the woman having sex with both Carter and Ellis, after which she was ordered to leave.
After the woman contacted authorities on July 4, police searched Mystikal’s apartment and detained a video camera and a safe. On July 9, authorities opened the safe and found the videotape.
The phrase “celebrity sex tape” usually evokes a fun, consensual sexual encounter, not cruel forced sex. This videotape has remained in police custody and has never circulated publicly.
Before being sentenced and heading to prison, Mystikal filmed a non-sex role in the Hustler porno flick Liquid City 2. This sometimes gets called a Mystikal sex tape, even though it’s a professional porn production and Mystikal doesn’t actually have sex or even take off his clothes on camera.
On February 16, 2010, one month after Mystikal’s release from prison, MediaTakeout.com posted:
MediaTakeOut.com just learned that a company will soon be releasing a very EXPLICIT tape with rapper Mystikal in it.
According to our snitches, this tape, excerpts of which can be seen below, was taken just a week before Mystikal went to prison on a rape charge.
Rumor has it that the judge found out that he had made this tape, and added a couple of years to Mystikal’s bid.
MediaTakeout claimed this Mystikal sex tape was “BRAND NEW”, but the post included frame captures from Liquid City 2, which was released in 2003. There was nothing new, just a pornsite (successfully) hyping some very old footage.
A few days later, XplicitSpit.com did an interview with Mystikal, who denied there was any new or unseen sex tape. He also rebutted the story that the judge added any jail time because of Mystikal shooting Liquid City 2.
