Peter Slipper Sex Tape

Who? Australian politician.

Real? Maybe.

Peter Slipper served as Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives from November 2011 to April 2012, capping off 22 years in the House. He’s married with children, and a priest in the the Anglican Catholic Church in Australia.

Fraud and sexual harrassment charges emerged against Peter Slipper in April 2012, including allegations that he relentlessly pursued sex with a younger gay man on his staff.

On April 21, 2012, the Daily Telegraph reported:

According to the court documents, the Howard government was aware of Mr Slipper’s sexual relationship with another young male adviser – and other allegations of sexual harassment – as early as 2003.

Megan Hobson, a former adviser to Mr Slipper, approached John Howard’s then senior adviser Tony Nutt after she – and two other women – had viewed a video featuring the Speaker and the young male adviser.

According to the court documents, the video included footage of Mr Slipper lying on a bed with the male adviser and hugging him in “an intimate fashion”.

After hearing her concerns about the video, Mr Nutt allegedly told Ms Hobson to “forget all about it”.

On June 19, 2012, the Brisbane Times reported:

The staffer suing Peter Slipper knew that a sex tape involving Mr Slipper with a junior male staffer allegedly existed before he began working with him.

In an affidavit released yesterday and sworn by James Ashby on June 13, Mr Ashby said he spoke to Judi McArdle – wife of Queensland Water Minister Mark McArdle – before he started working for Mr Slipper.

He said Mrs McArdle told him of “rumour and innuendo” that Mr Slipper had allegedly had a relationship with another male staff member, Tim Knapp.

“She said there’s been people that have seen them kissing in the car park out back of the old office and that had been seen by ABC staff that were in the same building,” the affidavit says.

“She said, there was a video, which I do believe exists, of a sexual nature between Tim and Peter and she said it was seen by one of the staff members in the office after she borrowed a video camera from work and the story goes that she was checking what she’d filmed and come across what had been filmed previously on that camera.

“Judi didn’t elaborate but she said it involved both Tim and Peter on a bed.”

The Peter Slipper sex tape has not leaked. All we have are a vague account by someone who saw the video in 2003, and another person who says someone else told him about the video. And it doesn’t sound like there’s any actual sex on the tape, just Slipper and the young male adviser lying on a bed and hugging.
