Ashlee Simpson Sex Tape

Who? American singer, younger sister of Jessica Simpson.

Real? No, just a bogus rumor and an obvious fake tape starring a lookalike.

The Ashlee Simpson sex tape does not exist. The rumor was started in January 2006, spread to a few skeptical blogs, then died out quickly.

The rumor appears to have been started deliberately by someone trying to hawk a fake tape starring a lookalike. Someone set up an “Ashley Simpson sex tape” website and posted this message:

Various wire reports say that Ashlee Simpson is terrified after a homemade sex tape made with an ex-boyfriend has been released on the Internet. The sextape features Ashlee having sex in various positions and were made before she got famous. The tape was stolen from her panic room at her mansion in the hills of Orange Country while she was at a skiing vacation in the Netherlands late last year.

But there were no “various wire reports”. The whole story was fabricated. This site also posted three supposed screen captures, and directed surfers to an offshore pornsite to view the tape for a price.

I’m not linking to the site because it’s so obviously a scam; you can probably find it with a little googling if you really want to. But there is no Ashlee Simpson sex tape.
