Real? No, the tape never existed. It turned out to be a false rumor.

In April 2008, the New York Post reported rumors of a sex tape starring Bam Margera and Lindsay Hughes. Blogs and gossip sites were all over the story for a couple days.

Bam Margera, the Jackass regular is reportedly in the middle of a sex tape scandal with racy footage that’s set to be released on a pay-per-view website. Margera who had been previously linked romantically with Jessica Simpson is said to be on a video tape having sex with Lindsay Hughes, fiancee of Gregg ‘Opie’ Hughes, New York radio host.

Steppin’ Out reported that the tape was obtained by a former employee of Gregg Hughes, who is now considering legal action to stop the film from being published on the internet. Chaunce Hayden told New York Post Page Six, “They’re doing the nasty – and I mean nasty. Hughes is taking legal action to prevent its distribution. Apparently, he’s so distraught, he’s banned the name ‘Bam’ from being mentioned on the (radio) show.”

The alleged tape may cause more marriage problems for Margera and Melissa Rothstein who had already gave the TV star an ultimatum to quit drugs or end up divorced.

Two weeks later, the Post retracted the story.

A newspaper has apologized after falsely claiming Jackass star Bam Margera was the star of a secret sex tape. The New York Post claimed Margera was captured on film performing sex acts on Lindsay Hughes – the fiancée of New York radio host Gregg ‘Opie’ Hughes. But the report has now been proved to be false.

In a retraction, the newspaper says, “We reported that Hughes was taking legal action against a disgruntled ex-employee of the radio duo who had acquired the rights to the video. We have since learned that this information, supplied by Steppin’ Out’s Chaunce Hayden, was entirely incorrect. There is no sex tape. Further, Hughes’ fiancée (Lindsay Hughes) has never met the MTV star (Bam Margera).”

So the Bam Margera & Lindsay Hughes sex tape never existed. Sad but true.
