David Letterman Sex Tape

Who? American late night talk show host

Real? No, just a rumor.

In early October 2009, news broke about a blackmail attempt against David Letterman. A CBS producer threatened to expose Letterman’s romantic and sexual relationships with multiple Late Show female staffers unless Letterman paid him $2 million. Letterman contacted the police, the blackmailer was arrested, and the blackmailer’s info on Letterman’s sex life went public.

A media frenzy followed, with many expressing shock and outrage at the idea that consenting adult co-workers sometimes have sex with each other.

Around October 20, the National Enquirer published a “shocking new bombshell”, rumors of a possible David Letterman sex tape. Surveillance cameras in the Ed Sullivan Theater supposedly captured Letterman with a female staffer, according to the Enquirer‘s anonymous source.

“If the tape makes its way into the criminal case, it’ll explode his marriage to smithereens,” revealed a close source.

“It’s one thing for him to have publicly admitted to having had sexual relations with some women on his staff. It’s another to see him in the throes of passion with one of those women.

“Dave apparently didn’t know the location of the security cameras at his Late Show studio.”

Daze Reader is skeptical. The Enquirer story is based on a single anonymous source, who has only heard a rumor and hasn’t actually seen the tape. If someone actually had a David Letterman sex tape in hand, they’d have been negotiating a seven-figure deal weeks ago. Then again, the National Enquirer was right about John Edwards.
