Zarina An Julie got her big break with the lead role on Malaysian TV drama Anak Pontianak (roughly Vampire Child or The Devil’s Daughter).

In January 2008, a handful of private topless photos of Zarina An Julie started circulating online. Malaysia is a socially conservative country with a large Muslim population, so the photos became a big pop culture scandal.

Zarina An Julie initially denied that the photos were of her, claiming that someone had photoshopped her face onto someone else’s nude torso. Eventually she admitted that the topless photos were real. She shot the pics with an ex-boyfriend before she got famous. She told one interviewer that she knew who had distributed the photos online, but that she didn’t know his motivation for doing so.

Rumor swirled that a Zarina An Julie sex tape would follow the topless photos online. In September 2008, a Singaporean blogger reported that the original anonymous photo leaker “kept the promise when the person sent Zarina’s sex video to a popular website earlier this week. The person had commented a few months ago that Zarina was fortunate her sex video was not uploaded together with her nude photos.” This turned out to be bogus.

No video ever appeared. There is no Zarina An Julie sex tape, just the topless photos.
